The Clarity Phone is the first telephone designed to help those with high-frequency hearing loss, a problem affecting 95% of the hearing impaired. Everyone needs upper-range or high-frequency sounds to hear words clearly. People with high-frequency hearing loss can’t hear sounds like "st" and "ch" so words like "stair" and "chair" sound like "air." Just increasing the volume of telephone reception doesn’t help, because it amplifies all frequencies. Upper-range sounds still don’t come through, which just results in louder muddle.

The Clarity Phone solves a common problem of high-frequency hearing loss in a unique way. It features a built-in sound equalizer that selectively increases the volume of the high-frequency sounds. For those with high-frequency hearing loss, this effectively replaces the sounds missing, allowing them to hear clearly on the phone again!

The Clarity W1000 now has some new features. Those features include a Certified Minimum Gain of 26dB and a 3.5mm jack for monaural output for assistive listening devices such as telecoil couplers. Also, the automatic amplifier preset/reset will reset the phone to non-amplified mode after hanging up. (It will return to the preset level when the Boost button is pushed.)
