The Kidde Wireless
Smoke Detector enables families to install an interconnected smoke alarm system
in their home without any rewiring. Interconnected systems provide an earlier
warning to fire because they link together—when one alarm sounds, they all
sound. This provides more warning in more places, and gives individuals more
time to escape.
This
battery-powered alarm links with other alarms and components of the Kidde
Wireless System to create a customized, advanced fire protection system. It can
even be placed in a detached workshop or shed and linked into the home's
system.
Wireless technology uses radio frequency to transmit and receive
messages about danger in a home. Battery Powered feature enables
homeowners to install interconnected smoke alarms in existing homes without
rewiring. It provides continuous protection (when batteries properly replaced),
even during a long-term power outage. In normal operation, three AA batteries
(included) will power the unit for up to a
year.
- 85 Decibel Alarm is loud enough to wake most
sleeping adults when placed in bedrooms and outside of sleeping areas.
- Lower Frequency Tone alarm is set at a pitch that
studies show may be more effective at waking children and adults with high
frequency hearing loss.
- Smart Touch Button quickly and temporarily
silences nuisance alarms; will hush a low battery chirp for up to 12 hours;
will test the operation of the alarm and interconnected system.
- Red LED light flashes in conjunction with alarm
beep.
- Green LED light flashes to indicate which alarm
initiates the response, as well as when the system is temporarily silenced due
to a nuisance alarm or low battery warning.
- End of Life Warning alerts homeowners that it is
time to replace the unit 10 years after initial power.
- Low Battery Warning chirps once a minute with
flashing red LED light.
- Unique ID Code inhibits interference from similar
systems nearby using dipswitches.
- Tamper Resistance tabs help deter tampering or
theft of unit or battery.
- Twist-Off Mounting provides quick installation
