Instructions / Technical Specification

1) Introduction

The MaxIT Bluetooth Loopset is a lightweight wireless device utilising  Bluetooth wireless technology that provides hands-free communication for the hearing aid wearer via the hearing aid's telecoil switch (T switch).

The power is provided by a AAA battery (alkaline or re-chargeable).

Any mobile cell phone that you want to use with your MaxIT Bluetooth Loopset must be compatible with Bluetooth technology version 1.2 / 2.0 The mobile cell phone must also support the same profiles as the Loopset.

The Loopset is worn around the neck in the same manner as a necklace.

3) Charging the re-chargeable AAA battery

a) Place the battery in the charger ensuring that the battery is placed the correct way up.

b) Slot the charger into an empty USB port on your computer and ensure the computer is turned on. Whilst the battery is charging the LED will glow RED. When the battery is fully charged the LED will glow GREEN.


4) INSTALLING THE BATTERY IN THE LOOPSET

a) Push black cover marked ‘BLUETOOTH’ away from direction of LED light and lift the battery cover.

b) Insert battery in correct way – Positive to positive, negative to negative

c) Replace cover in reverse order to opening (a).

IMPORTANT: Battery must be fully charged prior to initial use!


5) INITAIL PAIRING PROCEDURE FOR USE WITH BLUETOOTH ENABLED PHONE:

Activate the BLUETOOTH function on your mobile phone.
Press and hold the ‘TALK’ button on Loopset for around 12 seconds until the LED flashes alternate RED and BLUE indicating device in now in ‘pairing’ mode.
On mobile phone, and whilst in Bluetooth menu, scroll down to ‘paired devices’ option, press the ‘paired devices’ option and then press ‘NEW’.
Once your mobile phone indicates ‘BH015’ is found, press ‘PAIR/BOND’.
When asked for password press ‘0000’.
‘BH015’ is now recognized and the option to ‘CONNECT’ appears. Press ‘CONNECT’.
Once device advises pairing is successful, exit and return to mobile phone home screen. Headphone icon should appear.
If pairing does not occur as expected turn off both the phone and loop set, wait for 10 seconds and then repeat the pairing sequence.
Subsequent pairing procedure (after initial pairing) .

Press and hold the Loopset ‘TALK’ button until the LED flashes BLUE then release and press TALK button once more to link the Loopset with your mobile phone.
Switching Off the Loopset

To switch off your Loopset, press and hold the ‘TALK’ button until the LED displays both constant RED and BLUE, then release and the Loopset will automatically turn off.

NB; Pairing sequence may vary depending on make and model of your mobile phone. Please refer to manufacturers specific instructions.
6) Switching your Loopset ON and OFF 

a) To switch your Loopset ON, press the TALK button for about 5 seconds until the LED flashes BLUE, release the TALK button and then press briefly once more to link the loopset with your mobile cell phone.

b) To switch your Loopset OFF, press the TALK button for about 5 seconds until the LED flashes RED, release the TALK button and the loopset will switch off.

7) ANSWERING A CALL:

To answer an incoming call, press the TALK button on your Loopset. (If your mobile cell phone supports auto-answering and the feature is correctly set up, your Loopset will take the incoming call automatically and you won’t need to press any button).

8) Making a call with your Loopset by voice dialling

a) Voice dial function on your mobile cell phone must be turned on and voice tags must be stored.

b) On the Loopset, press either the VOLUME or DOWN button once.

c) A short tone will prompt you and you can then speak the ‘voice tag’ that has been stored in your phone’s voice dial phonebook.

d) The phone automatically dials the contact you’ve selected. (On most cell phones you can see the details of the call on the phone’s display).

e) When connected, you can communicate normally using the headset.

9) Making a call from the mobile cell phone’s keypad

a) Dial the phone number using the keypad on the mobile cell phone.

b) To send the call, press the phone’s SEND/CALL key.

c) The call will be transferred automatically to the Loopset when a connection is made.

10) ENDING A CALL FROM THE LOOPSET:

To end a call, press the Loopset ON/OFF button.

NOTE: This function only works on Bluetooth phones that support hands-free profile.

You can also end the call using the keypad on the mobile cell phone.

11) LAST NUMBER REDIAL:

When the Loopset is on standby (not in conversation), press the VOLUME UP button for 5 seconds and then release. The phone will then dial the last number called.

NOTE: This function only works on Bluetooth phones that support hands-free profile.

12) VOLUME CONTROL:

Your Loopset has 7 pre-set volume levels. To increase the volume, press the VOLUME UP button; to decrease the volume press the VOLUME DOWN button.

NOTE: You may also use your phone’s volume up / down buttons to adjust the headset volume.

13) BATTERY STATUS AND LOW BATTERY ALERT:

Each time the Loopset is turned on the LED will show the battery status. In normal condition the LED flashes BLUE once every 5 seconds.

In ‘Low Battery’ condition the LED flashes RED every 5 seconds.

The Loopset battery needs to be recharged or replaced when you hear a warning tone from the Loopset every 20 seconds. Once this warning starts there is less than 30 minutes of talk time remaining.


14) STORAGE OF YOUR LOOPSET:

a) Always store your Loopset safely.

b) Avoid storage at high temperature (above 60ºC) such as in hot vehicles or in direct sunlight. Storage at high temperatures can degrade performance and reduce battery life.

c) Do NOT expose your Loopset or any of the supplied parts to water or other liquids.
