When it detects a fire, it activates an internal horn and also transmits a signal to any Silent Call® receiver. When combined with various combinations of receivers, alerting devices and battery backup, it can provide 24 hour protection. The Silent Call® smoke detector operates on 2 internal user-replaceable 9V batteries.

RECEIVER, VIBRATING: The Shake-Up Receivers are designed as a single function receiver to alert a person to a fire. When the Shakeup Receiver with Bed Vibrator receives a fire signal from a Silent Call transmitter, it activates the bed vibrator. The Vibrator remains running for approximately three minutes or until the user presses the reset button on the receiver.
